Opinicon Pines Cottage Resort is a family owned business that was purchased in 2004 by Laurier and Debbie Viau.
Laurier is a retired civil servant who loves meeting people and enjoys the running of the cottage rental property in the summer and occasionally working at the Canadian Tire Centre in Kanata as security in the winter. It keeps him so busy he doesn't feel retired.
Debbie and Laurier enjoy seeing the returning families year after year, thinking of them not as rental customers but as good friends, having watched their kids grow up into young adults. Debbie is still working as a suburban mail carrier, a job she started in 1993. She spends time at Opinicon Pines on the weekends, looking forward to the time when she can retire and be there year round.
They have three, married children Ryan, Laurie and Darren, who love to spend a weekend or two during the season at the property and now Laurier and Debbie have grandchildren who will be enjoying the playground too.
